Two killed as motorbike crashes into tree in Jashore

Two young men were killed as a motorbike crashed into a roadside tree at Taltala in Manirampur upazila of Jashore on Sunday night.


The deceased were identified as Rakib, 27, son of Ismail, and Mehedi Hasan, 25, son of Kamruzzaman. Both were residents of Nadra village under Kashimnagar Union in Manirampur.

Locals and police said the accident occurred when Rakib and Mehedi were returning home from Rajganj Bazar on the motorcycle around 9:30 pm, leaving them injured.

Locals rushed them to Jashore General Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared them dead.

Monirampur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Abu Sayeed said the bodies have been kept at the morgue of Jashore General Hospital, reports UNB.

Legal procedures in connection with the accident are currently underway, he added.
