Mother, daughter killed in Manikganj bike accident
A mother and her infant daughter were killed in a head- on- collision with motorcycle and a passenger bus of Golden Paribahan near at Tepra bus stand area in Dhaka -Aricha Highway under Shibabalaya Upazila in the district this noon.
The deceased were identified as Sonia, 26 , daughter of Arfan Ali Sheikh of village Poyla of Jafarganj area and her 10 months girl baby Jannat.
Officer-in- Charge (OC) of Barangail Highway Police Harunor Rashid said the accident occurred at around 11.45 am when a motorcycle collided head on with a passenger bus of Golden Paribahan .
Abul Hossain a jail guard was riding the motorcycle accompanying his wife and daughter.
Police recovered the wounded and send them to the Uthuli Upazila Health Complex where the attending doctors declared Sonia dead and her baby succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.
However Abul Hossain remained unhurt.
The Highway Police sources said a case was filled with Shibabalaya Police Station and the passenger bus was seized from the Uthuli area but both the driver and helper fled, reports BSS.
