Two people were killed and five others injured after a truck rammed an auto-rickshaw at Mohadevpur upazila in Naongaon district on Wednesday.
The deceased were Abeda, 55, wife of Asraf Molla, and Baby, 35, wife of Jonab Ali, hailed from Manda upazila in the district.
Naohata Police Outpost in-charge said a truck hit a battery-run auto-rickshaw from the opposite direction on the Naogaon-Rajshahi regional highway in Khoratoli area at about 2:00 pm, leaving its seven passengers injured.
They were rescued and taken to Naogaon Sadar Hospital where Abeda and Baby succumbed to their injuries, he added.
Legal steps in this regard are under process.
