A 28-year-old man died after being hit by a speeding train in the Salimpur area of Chattogram's Sitakunda upazila on Tuesday night.



A 28-year-old man died after being hit by a speeding train in the Salimpur area of Chattogram's Sitakunda upazila on Tuesday night, police said on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Omar Faruk, son of Shah Alam of Fakirhat area in the upazila.
Md Zahir, an assistant sub-inspector with the Fouzdarhat police camp, said Faruk was playing guitar while sitting on the rail track near his house around 8pm on Tuesday.
The speeding Karnaphuli Express coming from Dhaka hit him, leaving him critically injured, the officer said. "He was taken to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival."
