A worker was killed after falling off an under-construction building in Mohammadpur area in the capital on Tuesday.



A worker was killed after falling off an under-construction building in Mohammadpur area in the capital on Tuesday.
The deceased was Afzal Hossain, 22, hailed from Sunamganj district. He used to live at the building in Bosila Swapnadhara Residential area.
Locals said Afzar fell off the 15-story building onto the ground at about 9:00 am while working on its 12th floor, leaving him critically injured.
He was rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
The body was later kept at the hospital morgue for an autopsy, said the hospital police camp in-charge Md Bachchu Miah.
They informed the police station concerned in this regard, he added.
