Two motorcyclists killed in Magura road accident

Two motorcyclists were killed and another was injured in a road accident in Shatkhali AR Jute Mill area under Shalikha upazila.



 Two motorcyclists were killed and another was injured in a road accident in Shatkhali AR Jute Mill area under Shalikha upazila of the district Thursday night.

The deceased were identified as Jishan Sheikh, 18, son of Tushar Sheikh, resident of Jagla village in Sadar upazila and Sazid Biswas, 22, son of Ashraf Biswas, resident of Chonpur village under Sadar upazila of the district.

The accident occurred when the three youths were returning home from Bagherpara upazila of Jashore district on a motorcycle. As they reached the Shatkhali AR Jute Mill area, a microbus coming from the opposite direction hit them at around 10 pm, leaving one dead on the spot and two others critically injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shalikha police station Bisharul Islam said.

Jishan Sheikh died on way to Magura General Hospital.

Police seized the motorcycle and efforts are on to arrest the driver, the OC added.

The bodies were handed over to the family members.
