Man killed in city road crash

Dhaka, Sept 21 : A man was killed and two others were injured when a pick-up van hit a lorry near Setu Bhaban in the city’s Banani area early Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Ismail Hossain, 32, an employee of a motor parts shop in Old Dhaka and son of Abdul Jalil of Noakhali district.

The pick-up van hit the stationary lorry in the area early in the morning after the pick-up van driver lost control over its steering, leaving three people injured.

Later, they were taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared Ismail dead around 5:30 am, said Yeasin Hossain, sub-inspector of Banani Police Station,, reports UNB.
