Two dwelling houses were gutted in East Barkhain area of Anwara Upazila of Chattogram on Saturday .



Two dwelling houses were gutted in East Barkhain area of Anwara Upazila of Chattogram on Saturday morning.
The fire originated from an electric short circuit around 4.30am on Saturday in the house of Md Jahangir and soon spread to the another house of Azim in Bhora Pukurpar area of East Barkhain in Anwara, said Bellal Hossain, in-charge of Anwara Fire Service and Civil Defence.
On information fire fighters rushed to the spot and with help locals brought the blaze under control.
Valuables worth 20 lakh were gutted in fire, claimed the house owners.
