Khulna, Jan 18 --A man was electrocuted and another was injured at Baddagati village in Khulna's Phultala upazila on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Kamal Biswas while the injured is Selim of Baddagati village.

According to locals, there is a fish enclosure belonging to one Humayun Kabir of Baddagati village in Ruher Beel. To protect his fish from thieves, he has apparently surrounded it with electric wire.

On Tuesday night, Kabir's son Selim got an electric shock when he went there around 11 pm. Kamal Biswas, owner of a neighbouring enclosure, was electrocuted when he tried to save Selim.

They were rushed to Upazila Health Complex where Kamal succumbed to his injuries.

On information, police went to the spot and handed over the body to his family as no complaint was received, said Md Ilias Talukder, officer-in-charge of Phultala Police Station. - UNB
