Motorcyclist killed in Gopalganj road accident

A motorcyclist was killed and two others were injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Fukra area under Kashiani upazila of the district Friday night.



 A motorcyclist was killed and two others were injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Fukra area under Kashiani upazila of the district Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Tanveer Sikder, 23, son of Masud Sikder, resident of Gopinathpur Uttarpara village in Sadar upazila of the district.

The accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound microbus hit their motorcycle from behind on Dhaka-Khulna highway around 8pm last night while Tarveer was going to Fukra from Gopinathpur on a motorcycle with his two friends, leaving three youths seriously injured, said Sub-Inspector (SI) of Kashiani Highway police Saidul Islam.

Later, locals rescued them and admitted to Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital where Tarveer died.

The body was handed over to the family members, the SI added.
