Mymensingh, Mar 03 -Two vegetable traders were killed on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway of Mymensingh's Bhaluka Upazila Friday morning after a pickup van hit a truck, police said.

The deceased Abdus Sattar, 30, was from the Maskanda area of Mymensingh city and Sajjad Hossain, 32, was from the Chandgaon area of Netrakona.

Riad Mahmud, in-charge of Bhaluka Highway Police Outpost, said the accident occurred early in the morning when a vegetable-laden pickup van crashed into a truck in the Bhoradova area, killing Sattar and Sajjad on the spot.

"The pickup van driver fled the scene after the accident. The bodies have been kept at the police outpost and will be handed over to the deceased's families after the completion of legal procedures," Riad said. - UNB
