Youth killed in a road accident in Kalapara

Patuakhali: A young man named Bablu Mridha (27) died after collided head with a Lobet in Kalapara of Patuakhali. A school teacher named Chinmoy was injured. One of his arms is broken. The incident took place in Islampur area of Nilganj Union of the Upazila at around 11:30 pm on Tuesday. The deceased Bablu is the son of late Achmat Ali of Charakhali village of Rajapur police station of Jhalkathi district.

Locals said that Bablu was going to his father-in-law's house in Nilganj South Daulatpur in an auto-rickshaw on the Kalapara-Kuakata highway. While trying to pass a vehicle, the passengers autorickshaw collided head with Lobate, which had stopped the lights on the side of the road. Two passengers of the autorickshaw were seriously injured.

Later, after rescuing the injured and taking them to Kalapara Hospital, the doctor on duty declared Bablu dead.

Md. Jasim, OC of Kalapara police station, said that the body was recovered and brought to the police station. Besides, Lobet driver has been kept in police custody for questioning. If the family of the deceased files a complaint, further legal action will be taken. - Gofran Biswas Palash
