2 workers die after roof collapses in Sylhet

Two construction workers died when the roof of an under-construction building collapsed in Sylhet's Dokkhin Surma on Monday.

The incident happened at the Betuarmukh area of Kamal Bazar in Dokkhin Surma upazila on Monday afternoon, said Abul Hossain, inspector (Investigation) of Dakshin Surma Police Station, reports UNB. 

The deceased were identified as Ruhel Ahmed (25) of Hazrai village in Kamal Bazar area and Nurul Islam (21) of Madhyapara village of the same area, he said.

The two workers died on the spot when the roof collapsed while working in the under-construction building owned by one Abul Mia in the Betuarmukh area, said the police official.

Their bodies were sent to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Further legal action is being taken in this regard, he added.
