Narayanganj, June 7 -Three people including a woman and her son died in two separate incidents in Fatullah upazila of Narayanganj on Wednesday.

The deceased were Saleha Begum (70) and her son Abdur Rahim (29), from Bholail Gaiuddhar Bazar under the upazila and a motorcyclist Shah Alam.

Saleha’s younger son Abdur Jabbar said his sister Maleka came into contact with a live electronic wire while she was tying a cable with a tin-shed of their house around 7pm.

Saleha and Abdur Rahim were electrocuted when they were trying to save Maleka, leaving the trio critically injured, he said.

They were rushed to Narayanganj General Hospital where the mother and the son were declared dead upon arrival, said Dr Farhad, a residential medical officer of the hospital.

The bodies have been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsies, he said, adding that injured Maleka is under treatment.
