Medical man dies after train hits him in Khilkhet

A medical salesman was killed when a speedy train hit him in the city’s Khilkhet level crossing on Wednesday.



Dhaka, Nov 17 : A medical salesman was killed when a speedy train hit him in the city’s Khilkhet level crossing on Wednesday, police said. 

The victim was identified as Prodip Kumar Sarker, 42, son of late Bonoy Bhusan of Kaliyakur in Gazipur district. 

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sakline of Bimanbandar police outpost said the man was hit at around 9:50 am by Rangpur Express running from Kamalapur railway station.  

He died on the spot, Sakline said. 

Palash Mallick, a relative of the victim, said Prodip has long been suffering various diseases. He came to Dhaka for to apply for a visa to go to India for treatment.  

The body was sent to DMCH morgue for post-mortem, reports UNB .
