Engineering student jumps in front of train in Khulna, dies

Khulna, Nov 18 -- A 19-year-old student of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) allegedly ended his life by jumping in front of a speeding train at Mattambhanga in Khulna city Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Subrata Kumar, 19, a first-year student and son of Chandra Kumar Pal of Tangail district.

Officer-in-charge of Khanjahan Ali police station, Prabir Kumar Biswas, said that Subrata jumped in front of the Khulna-bound commuter train coming from Jashore around 12pm and died on the spot.

On information, a police team rushed to the spot and sent it to the morgue of Khulna Medical College and Hospital. - UNB
