Worker dies as iron bar falls on him in Dhaka’s Jatrabari
A 28-year-old worker died as an iron bar fell on him from a crane at a factory in Konapara area of Jatrabari in Dhaka on Thursday.

Md Khaleque was the son of late Shah Jamal of Nayabil village under Nalitabari upazila of Shariatpur district. He lived with his family in the Konapara Golden Bridge near his workplace, UNB reports.
Yeasin Arafat, supervisor of the iron flat bar factory in the Konapara area, said the iron flat bar fell on him tearing off the chain of the crane when workers were lifting the bars, leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where physicians declared him dead, he said.
Bachhu Miah, inspector of the hospital police outpost, confirmed the matter.
