Businessman hit by train in Dhaka’s Malibagh dies

Dhaka, Aug 31 --A 50-year-old businessman was killed after being hit by a train near Malibagh level crossing in the capital on Thursday, police said.

The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahman, a resident of Naraynaganj's Bandar area.

“The accident occurred around 12pm when a Dhaka-bound Upakul Express Train hit him while he was crossing the rail line in Malibagh, leaving him dead on the spot,” said Faruk Ahmed, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Dhaka Railway police station.

On information, police recovered the body from the spot.

Later, the body was handed over to his family without autopsy following an application, the ASI said. - UNB
