Motorcylist killed being crushed under truck in Dinajpur
A motorcycle rider was killed after being crushed under the wheels of a truck on the Dinajpur-Fulbari Hegional Highway .
A motorcycle rider was killed after being crushed under the wheels of a truck on the Dinajpur-Fulbari Hegional Highway of Dinajpur district town on Tuesday night.
The accident took place at around 8pm in Fulbari Bus Stand Diabetic Hospital intersection of the town.
The deceased was identified as Manik Hossain, 30, son of Abdus Samad, a resident of Block No-8 in Upasahar area under Dinajpur Sadar upazila.
According to locals, Manik along with his two friends was heading towards Fulbari Bus Stand on a motorcycle. On the way, they fell on the road after being hit by an easybike. At that time, a speedy sand-laden truck from behind ran over Manik and dragged him around half of a kilometer away from the spot, leaving him dead on the spot and two others critically injured.
Locals took the injured to Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital.
Dinajpur Kotwali Police Station OC Golam Mawla said being informed, police recovered the body and seized the truck from the spot, however, its driver and helper managed to flee from the scene.
Legal actions would be taken in this regard, the OC added.
