A 32-year-old man died when a moving train ran him over while he was crossing the rail tracks at Akhaura upazila of Brahmanbaria on Monday
The incident happened at Druin village in Mogra union of the upazila on Monday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Monir Mia of Daruin village. He was a power trolley driver by profession. Jasim Uddin Khandaker, inspector of Akhaura Railway Police Station, confirmed the matter, reports UNB.
Monir was going home through the road adjacent to the gate of Bir Shrestha Mostafa Kamal's grave in the Druin area, said the inspector.
At the time, trains came from both sides on the Dhaka-Chattogram railway line, and he was cut under the Chattogram-bound express train, killing him on the spot, said hte police official.
The railway police recovered the body of the deceased. Legal action is under way in this regard, he said.
