Day laborer killed under tomtom wheels in Kalapara

Patuakhali: A day laborer named Bidhan Majhi (27) died after being crushed under the wheels of a tomtom which overturned in Kalapara of Patuakhali. The incident occurred at Londa village of Dhankhali union of the upazila at around 12 noon on Saturday (September 23).
The deceased Bidhan Majhi is the son of Buddhi Majhi of Nishanbaria village of Chakamiya union of Kalapara Upazila. He worked as a part time sales representative of Salim Bakery in the city. The driver managed to escape immediately after the incident. A UD case has been registered at the police station.
Humayun Kabir, police Sub-Inspector of Kalapara Police Station, said that as the tomtom overturned, Bidhan Majhi fell under the tomtom and was crushed under its wheels and died on the spot. The body of the deceased was recovered and sent to Patuakhali morgue for post-mortem. - Gofran Biswas Palash
