Two motorcyclists killed Jashore road accident
The accident took place at around 5pm in Palua village under Pashapole union Chaugachha upazila in Jashore .
Two motorcyclists were killed after being hit by a truck on the Chaugachha-Jikargacha road at Chaugachha upazila in Jashore district on Tuesday afternoon.
The accident took place at around 5pm in Palua village under Pashapole union of the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Nur Islam, 40, son of Ali Hossain, 40, a resident of Maligati village, and Aiyub Hossain, 55, of Duriali village under the upazila.
According to witnesses, the accident occurred when a speeding vegetables-laden truck hit their motorbike from opposite direction in front of a local mosque in the village, leaving the duo dead on the spot.
Chaugachha Police Station officer-in-charge Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury said being informed, police seized the truck from the spot, however, its driver and helper managed to flee the scene.
Legal action would be taken in this regard, the OC added.
