Bike rider killed as pickup van runs him over in Khilgaon

The deceased was Mirazul Islam Ratul, 26, hailing from Dohar upazila of Dhaka.
A man was killed when a pickup van hit his motorbike in the Meradia Bazar area of Khilgaon in Dhaka late on Monday.
The deceased was Mirazul Islam Ratul, 26, hailing from Dohar upazila of Dhaka.
Sifat, a pedestrian, said the pickup hit Mirazul’s bike and dragged him for some distance.
The pedestrian rescued him and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where duty doctor pronounced him dead around 12:05am on Tuesday.
Police managed to seize the pickup van but the driver had already fled the area.
DMCH police outpost In-Charge Inspector Md Bacchu Mia said the body was in the hospital morgue.
