Cop among two killed in Netrakona road accident

Netrakona, Jan 26 --Two people, including a policeman, were killed and six others were injured in a head-on collision between a private car and a CNG autorickshaw in Netrokona on Friday.

The accident occurred this afternoon in the Jhaoshi area of the Netrakona-Mymensingh regional highway, said Moshiul, sub-inspector of Netrakona Model Police Station.

The deceased were identified as Azizul Hakim, constable of Fakir Bazar Police Investigation Center of Barhatta Upazila in Netrakona, and autorickshaw driver Faruk Mia, son of Solaiman Fakir of Shahbazpur area of Sadar Upazila.

The injured are Rahatul, 45, of Pabai village of Kalmakanda upazila of Netrakona, Pavel, 30, of Palashhati village, Nazrul Islam, 40, Mahabub, 65, Sharmin, 35, of Madhyanagar upazila of Sunamganj and private car driver Panun Mia, 35, of Madaripur district.

Driver Panun Mia is undergoing treatment at Netrakona Sadar Hospital while the rest were sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in critical condition, added the SI. - UNB
