Woman dies trying to board moving train in city

A woman crashed under the wheels while attempting to board a moving train at Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital on Thursday night.

Sub-Inspector of Dhaka Railway Police Station (Kamalapur) Md Harun ur Rashid said Laily and her son Md Riday Hasan were trying to board on a Lalmonirhat-bound a running train at platform no. 6 at the station at around 1-.30pm on Thursday.

Laily accidentally slipped and came under the wheels of the moving train.

Critically injured Laily was taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The body is now under police custody and will be handed over to the family members soon, he added.
