13 dead in bus-pickup van collision on Dhaka-Khulna highway
Faridpur, Apr 16 - At least 13 people were dead and several injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a pickup van on Dhaka-Khulna highway at Sadar upazila in Faridpur district this morning.
Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
MD. Hasanuzzaman, officer-in-charge of Faridpur Sadar Kotwali Police Station, said that a Magura-bound bus of Unique Paribahan from Dhaka collided with a Dhaka-bound pickup van. Eleven people died on the spot and two died after being taken to hospital. At least four people were injured in the incident.
The injured have been admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
On information, a Fire Service team rushed to the spot and conducted rescue operations, the OC added.-UNB
