Blogger dies while taking videos from a car in Sirajganj



Sirajganj, June 08 - A blogger died after being hit by an iron pipe while filming from a convertible car on top of the traditional Elliot Bridge (Baropool) in Sirajganj town on Saturday.

The blogger Rabiul Azim Tanu, 35, was the son of late Liakat Ali of Gopinathpur village of Kalaroa upazila of Satkhira, said Sirajul Islam, officer in charge (OC) of Sadar police station.

He said that on the invitation of his friend Moinuddin, 3 friends including Tanu came from Dhaka to Sirajganj on Friday night.

On Saturday morning, four friends went for a drive in a convertible car and Tanu was filming the beauty of Elliot Bridge in the town from the top of the car.

Suddenly, the iron pipe on the bridge hit the back of his head, leaving Tanu seriously injured.

Locals rescued him and took him to the Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib General Hospital in Sirajganj, where doctors declared him dead.

On information, police visited the spot and recovered the body.

"As there was no complaint, his body was handed over to his relatives in the afternoon," added the OC.

A case has been filed in the concerned police station in this regard.-UNB
