2 killed, 5 injured in an accident on Dhaka-Barishal Highway



Barishal, June 16 - Two people were killed and five others injured in a collision on the Dhaka-Barishal highway at Kashipur in Barishal city on Sunday. 

A bus collided with a stationary truck carrying gas cylinders, resulting in the fatal accident.

One of the deceased has been identified as Sohagh, 25, while the identity of the other victim remains unknown.

The crash occurred in front of the BRAC office when a Barishal-bound bus from Dhaka struck the truck on its way to Nathullabad Terminal. 

The impact left two people dead on the spot and three others injured, said Lokman Hossain, inspector of Barishal Metropolitan Police.

Following the collision, the truck plunged into a roadside pond. The injured were promptly taken to a local hospital for treatment.-UNB
