62-year-old man hit by motorcycle dies in Kurigram

Kurigram, Jun 26 -A 62-year-old man lost his life after being hit by a motorcycle in Phulbari upazila of Kurigram on Tuesday night.

The deceased, identified as Ataur Rahman, was the father of newly elected upazila vice-chairman Mehedi Hasan.

According to locals, the incident occurred as Ataur Rahman was returning home after Isha prayers at the Upazila Health Complex mosque. At that time, a speeding motorcycle hit him from behind on the paved road, causing severe injuries.

Locals rescued him and took him to the health complex.

Due to the critical nature of his injuries, Dr. Tanvir from the emergency department recommended shifting him to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for further treatment.

Later, he was taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 11:00 pm.

Fulbari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nawabur Rahman informed that the motorcycle involved was seized by locals.

However, the biker, identified as Limon Mia, an employee of Adi Motorcycle Mechanics at Phulbari Mohila Degree College intersection, managed to flee. - UNB
