Five people sustained burn injuries as a microbus carrying them caught fire after hitting a road divider in Meghna toll plaza area on Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Narayanganj’s Sonargaon upazila on Wednesday.

The identities of the victims could not be known immediately.
The injured were rushed to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka, said Abu Nayem, inspector of Kanchpur Highway Police Station.
Police and locals said the Chattogram-bound microbus caught fire after hitting the road divider near the toll plaza around 10am, reports UNB.
Hearing screams, locals dragged the injured out of the vehicle through the window and took them to the hospital, they said.
The Highway police station’s Officer-in-Charge Rezaul Haq said that a fire service unit rushed to the spot and doused the flame immediately.
