2 killed in Bagerhat as speeding truck hits richshaw
Two people were killed and three others injured when a truck hit a rickshaw on Bagerhat-Pirojpur Highwayon Monday. - representational image.
Two people were killed and three others injured when a truck hit a rickshaw on Bagerhat-Pirojpur highway at Boitpur in Sadar upazila of Bagerhat district on Monday.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
The accident occurred around 11:30 am when the Pirojpur-bound truck hit the rickshaw, killing one person on the spot, said KM Azizul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
Besides, three people were injured when an ambulance plunged into a road side ditch after being hit by the truck at the same time.
The injured were taken to the local hospital but another victim died on the way to hospital.
Police seized the truck but could not arrest its driver.
