Narayanganj fire: 2 burn victims die at DMCH

Two people, who sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion of a vehicle in Fatulla of Narayanganj district, died at the burn unit of DMCH.



Two people, who sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion of a vehicle in Fatulla of Narayanganj district, died at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Alam Hossain, 40, and Judge Mia, 50.

Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police camp, said  Alam received 100% burn injuries and died at the hospital around 12:30 am while Judge Mia with 80% burn injuries died around 8:30 am.

Earlier on Sunday, ten people, including a child, suffered burn injuries when a gas cylinder of a vehicle exploded at Aliganj in Fatulla of Narayanganj.

The incident occurred around 9 am when a gas cylinder of a vehicle exploded following a cigarette fire as some workers were repairing the vehicle behind a tin-shed house of Abdul Baten in Beparipara area of Fatullah's Aliganj, said Abdullah Al Arefin, deputy assistant director of Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defense, quoting locals.

Among the injured, six were admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
