6 burn injured in Dhaka restaurant gas stove fire

Dhaka, Feb 22 -- At least six people sustained burn injuries in a gas stove fire at a restaurant in the capital's Kalabagan area on Tuesday morning.

The injured are- Sabuj, 30, Nahid, 22, Sarowar Hossain, 20, Md Farhan, 20, Md Faisal, 15, and Md Tamim, 17. They all are workers of FA Al Borak Restaurant of Kalabagan.

Habibur Rahman, the manager of the restaurant, said they got burnt when they tried to increase the fire while cooking in the cylinder gas stove and the fire spread soon around 9am.

Four injured were sent to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.

Sabuj and Nahid were sent to Square Hospital and were released after first aid.

Partho Shankar Pal, a resident doctor at the institute, said Sarwar had been admitted with 15 per cent burns on his body. The other three have been released after first aid. - UNB
