Among them, 2 died in Jhenaidah and 3 in Magura.
Two banana traders were killed when a pickup van crashed into a stationary truck at Saduhati intersection in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila around 5:am. Another trader was injured in the incident.
The deceased were identified as Anisur Rahman of Borokawnia village in Saltha upazila of Faridpur district and Faruk Matubber from Bhawal village of the same upazila.
Injured Matior Rahman, is of the same village now currently receiving treatment at Jhenidah Sadar hospital, reports UNB.
According to eyewitnesses, the pickup was heading to Meherpur district from Faridpur to purchase bananas. It hit the back of a standing truck, killing two on the spot.
Shahin Uddin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station, confirmed the incident.
Meanwhile, three people, including two friends, were killed in separate road accidents in Magura.
Two friends riding a motorcycle were crushed by a private car at the Kashinathpur signboard area on the Magura-Jhenaidah road.
They were identified as Sani Biswas (20), son of Pikul Biswas of Gouricharanpur in Sadar upazila and Muhiib Biswas (18), son of Kamruzzaman Biswas of the same village.
Police said that they were returning home from Magura town when they were struck by a private car, killing them instantly.
In another incident, a 14-year-old boy named Faruk Hossain, an autorickshaw driver, was killed when his vehicle overturned in Narihati area of Sadar upazila.
Faruk was the son of Zahid Mia from Narihati village.
Jahangir Hossain, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Magura Highway Police, confirmed the deaths of the three individuals.
