Barishal ferry tragedy: Another body recovered

The death toll from the Barishal ferry tragedy rose to four, with the recovery of another body from Arial Kha Riveron Saturday morning.



The death toll from the Barishal ferry tragedy rose to four, with the recovery of another body from Arial Kha River in Barishal on Saturday morning.
 The deceased was identified as Rafiqul Islam, son of Kasimuddin Sheikh of Raiganj upazila in Sirajganj district.
Coast guard members fished out the body of Rafiqul from the river around 9.30am, said media officer of Coast Guard South Zone, Lieutenant SM Tahsin Rahman.
Another man is, however, still missing, he said.
Earlier, on February 22, three people drowned and two more went missing after the ferry carrying 42 passengers capsized in the Arial Kha River off the coast of Barishal.
Khorshed Alam, station officer of the Barishal Naval Fire Service, had said that the vessel sank around 1am off the coast of Nalchar in Charmonai union.
