Two Killed, Three Injured in Mollahat Road Accident

Two people were killed and three others injured in a tragic road accident early this morning when a private car crashed into a roadside tree in Mollahat upazila of Bagerhat district.


The victims were identified as Tareque, the driver of the car, and his passenger Riyad, both residents of Daudkandi upazila in Cumilla district.

The injured include Habibur Rahman, from Muradnagar upazila, Russel from Daudkandi, and Sohrab Hossain from Titas upazila, all in Cumilla.

According to police, the accident occurred around 3:30 AM in the Mejhera Gaola area of Mollahat upazila, when the driver of the Khulna-bound vehicle lost control and crashed into a tree. The force of the impact left all five people inside critically injured.

The injured were rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH), where doctors later pronounced Tareque and Riyad dead. The other three victims are currently receiving treatment.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mollahat Highway Police Station, Sheikh Moniruzzaman Chanu, confirmed the incident, stating, “We will complete the necessary formalities and hand over the bodies to the families after post-mortem.”
