Two Killed in Separate Road Accidents in Noakhali

Two people lost their lives in separate road accidents in Begumganj upazila of Noakhali district today.


The deceased were identified as 45-year-old Nurjahan Begum, a resident of Chowmuhani municipality, and Ayrin, the daughter of Babul, from Krishnarampur village in Begumganj.

According to Sub-Inspector (SI) Krishna Kumar Das of Begumganj Thana, Nurjahan Begum was fatally struck by a truck while crossing the road near the rail gate area of Chowmuhani this afternoon. She was immediately taken to the Begumganj Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared her dead upon arrival.

In a separate incident, Ayrin sustained critical injuries when a bus collided with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in front of Kalikapur High School around noon. She was rushed to Noakhali Sadar Hospital, where doctors also declared her dead.

Her sister was also injured in the collision, confirmed Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ruhul Amin of Charganj Highway Thana. The incident is under investigation, and authorities are working to determine the cause.
