Husband Dies in Crash While Transporting Wife’s Body

A man was killed in a tragic road accident while transporting his wife’s body in a freezer van on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Dhamrai Upazila on Thursday.

The deceased, Faridul Islam, 34, from Rajapur in Pabna district, was traveling with his wife’s body and several relatives from Dhaka Medical College Hospital to Manikganj when the van crashed into a roadside tree in the Balitha area around noon.
According to Highway police, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and strike the tree. Faridul died instantly at the scene. Five other passengers in the van were injured and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Golra Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rupol Chandra Das confirmed the incident and said authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
