Road crash leaves 2 dead in Naogaon

Naogaon, 7 Jan - Two people were killed in a road accident on the Naogaon-Mahadevapura regional highway in Mahadevpur upazila of Naogaon on Tuesday morning.

The deceased were Fardin Hossain, son of Manik Hossain from South Hosainpur village in Mahadevapur upazila, and Rezuan Islam, son of Shariful Islam from Shyampur village.

Hashmat Ali, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mahadevapur Police Station, said Fardin and Rezuan were returning to Mahadevapur from Naogaon sadar on a motorcycle at around 10 am.

The motorbike crashed into a truck parked by the roadside, leaving Fardin Hossain dead on the spot, he said.

Rezuan was rescued and taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

The OC said the bodies will be handed over to their families for burial after the legal process.
