The victims—Antar Gosh, 18, from Jugidia village in Companiganj, Sourav Gopal, 23, from Alipur village in Begumganj, and Debu Boishab, 21, from Birahimpur village in Companiganj—were returning home after a visit to Feni when disaster struck.
A Fatal Collision
According to Delwar Hossain, a CNG autorickshaw driver who witnessed the crash, the motorcycle was speeding when it struck a tree log left on the roadside in Asharfpur, near Bakerbazar. The sudden impact sent all three riders tumbling onto the road.
Before they could regain their bearings, a fast-moving vehicle from behind ran over Sourav and Debu, killing them instantly. Antar, severely injured, was rushed to Feni General Hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries en route, as confirmed by Dr. Md Sujan of the hospital.
Legal and Investigative Actions
Officer-in-Charge Md Harunur Rashid of the Mohipal Highway Police Station confirmed that two bodies were recovered from the scene. Both were sent to the hospital morgue for autopsies as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities are conducting legal formalities, and the investigation continues into the cause of the crash.
The untimely deaths of these young men have left their families in a state of profound grief. Known well in their villages, the loss has sent shockwaves through the tight-knit communities of Jugidia, Alipur, and Birahimpur.
A Community Shaken
