3 of a family burnt in Savar gas cylinder blast

Three members of a family including a child sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion at a house in Durgapur Chalabazar in Ashulia, on the outskirts of the capital on Sunday.


The injured were identified as Md Jahangir, 40 of Magura district and a worker of a drugs factory, his wife Beauty Begum, 35 and their  daughter Tanha, 5.

Jahangir along with his wife used to live on the ground floor of the two-story building, owned by Sohagh Mandal in the area, reports UNB.

The explosion occurred in the morning when Beauty tried to light the gas stove, leaving three members of the family injured, said Nur Alam Siddique , officer-in-charge of Ashulia Police Station.

Later, they were taken to Savar Upazila Health Complex from where the doctors referred them to National Burn Institute in Dhaka.

Earlier on February 14, 11 members of a family sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder blast in Gumail area of Ashulia.

Three of them died while the others are  undergoing treatment at hospital.
