Three members of a family sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion at Fakirapool in the capital on Sunday.

The injured were Quamrunnesa Rozina, 45, her son Riaz Hossain, 21, a student of Habibullah Bahar College and Kulsuma Akter, sister of Quamrunnessa of Raipur upazila in Laxmipur district.

Yeasmin Sultana, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defense headquarters, said the fire broke out on the 3rd floor of an eight-story building in the area when a gas cylinder went off with a big bang, leaving three people injured.

The injured were taken to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital before the arrival of the fire service men, reports UNB.
