Road crash in Pabna leaves 2 SSC candidates dead

Two SSC candidates were killed in a head-on collision between an easy bike and a motorcycle in Aminpur of Pabna on Thursday afternoon.


The accident occurred around 5pm at the Laler intersection of the Aminpur regional highway in Kashinathpur, said Nurus Salam Siddiqui, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ameenpur police station.

The deceased were identified as Asad (17), son of Karim Kari from Goalnagar village in Dhalarchar union of Ameenpur police station, and Zubair (18), son of Delwar Hossain from Bongram area of Santhia.

Locals said that the two students were riding a motorcycle at high speed towards the Kazirhat area in Bera upazila. As they approached the Laler intersection, an easy bike was entering the highway. The motorcycle collided head-on with the easy bike, leaving Asad and Zubair dead on the spot.

The OC said that the bodies were recovered from the site and handed over to their families after confirming there were no complaints from the relatives, reports UNB.

Police personnel visited the scene and an investigation into the incident is ongoing, he added.
