Mother, Son Killed in Satkhira Road Crash

A mother and her three-year-old son were tragically killed, while two others were injured in a fatal road accident in Kumira, Patkelghata upazila, Satkhira, today.

The victims have been identified as Rita Sadhu, 28, wife of Apurba Sadhu from Kapilmuni village, Paikgachha upazila, Khulna, and her son, Sourav Sadhu, 3.

The accident also left Apurba Sadhu, 34, and his four-year-old daughter Shova Sadhu injured. They are currently receiving treatment.

The incident occurred around 12:30 pm at the Kumira Kadamtala intersection on the Satkhira-Khulna highway. According to locals, Apurba was traveling with his wife and children on a motorcycle to his father-in-law’s house in Sagardari, Keshabpur upazila. At the intersection, a Satkhira-bound passenger bus struck their motorbike from behind, killing Rita and Sourav instantly.

Patkelghata Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Sanjay Kumar Das confirmed the details and stated that the bodies of the deceased have been recovered and sent to the Sadar Hospital morgue.
