Man hit by train dies at Khulna hospital

A 45-year-old man who was injured being hit by a train in Daulatpur upazila of Khulna on Wednesday morning died at a hospital.

The deceased was Md Helal, a resident of Madhupur village in Terokhada upazila of the district and worked at Hazrat Shah Chandrapuri Jute Mills Limited as Khalashi.

Witnesses said a speeding train hit the head and legs of Helal when he was crossing the rail tracks by Daulatpur Rail Station around 7:50am, leaving him injured.

He was first taken to Upazila Health Complex and later shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 9:30am, said Md Ismail, sub-inspector of Daulatpur police station, reports UNB.
