Three people were killed in separate road accidents in Banasree and Motijheel areas on Wednesday.

In Banasree, two motorcyclists were killed when a bus ran over them after a battery-run auto-rickshaw hit the motorcycle near Farazi Hospital around 11:30 am, leaving one killed on the spot and another injured.

The deceased were identified as Abdullah Al Noman of Rupganj in Narayanganj district and Md Pavel, said Sub-inspector Mahadi Hasan of Khilgaon Police Station.

The injured was taken to Farazi Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

Police seized the bus but could not arrest anyone as the driver managed to flee the scene.

In another incident, a rickshaw-puller identified as Abdul Matin Mia, 35, son of Mozzafar Ali of Master Para in Kishoreganj under Nilphamari district, died after being hit by a private car at Fakirapool intersection in Motijheel around 10:30 am on Wednesday, reports UNB.

DMCH police outpost in-charge Md Faruk said he was taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
