Two killed in Chandpur road crash

Two persons were killed and three others injured in a road accident on the Chandpur-Cumilla highway of the district town here early this morning.


The deceased were Md. Samudra Mal, 24, son of Md. Monir Mal of Mal Bari in Baburhat area of the town and Md. Ishak, 35, an auto-rickshaw driver who hailed from Natore district.

The accident took place in the Chairmanghat area around 12.30 am when a motorcycle collided head-on with a battery-run auto-rickshaw, leaving the bike rider Samudra and the auto-rickshaw driver Ishak dead on the spot and injuring three others.
 
The injured were taken to Chandpur Government General Hospital.

Of the injured, Rakib and Fahad were sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in critical condition.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Model Police Station Md. Bahar Mia confirmed the matter and said the bodies will be handed over to the family members after autopsy and legal proceedings, reports BSS.
