2 killed, 10 hurt in separate road accidents in Jashore

Two people, including a police constable, were killed and ten others injured in two separate road accidents in Jashore district today.


The first accident occurred around 6am at Chatiantala in Jashore Sadar Upazila when two motorcycles collided head-on on the Jashore-Jhenaidah highway.

Police constable Fazlul Haque, stationed at Atra Police Outpost under Khulna Metropolitan Police and Riyal Hasan, son of Iman Uddin from Kashipur village in Kotchandpur Upazila of Jhenaidah, were critically injured in the crash.

A third individual, Mamun Hossain, was also injured.

Local Fire Service personnel responded quickly and rescued the injured, transporting them to Jashore General Hospital, according to police

Doctors declared Fazlul Haque dead upon arrival. Riyal Hasan later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. Mamun Hossain remains in critical condition.

The second accident took place around 12pm in front of Bijli Petrol Pump in Fatepur Union in Jashore Sadar Upazila.

A passenger bus and a truck collided head-on on the Jashore-Narail highway, leaving nine people injured. Police report that four of the injured are in critical condition.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jashore Kotwali Police Station, Abul Hasnat confirmed both incidents, reports BSS.
