Couple killed as train hits motorbike in Narsingdi

A couple was killed when a train hit a motorcycle at Dagria level crossing on Dhaka-Sylhet route in the suburb area of Narsingdi district on Monday.


The deceased was identified as Aminul Islam Judge Mia, 48 and his wife Aklima Begum, 45 of Gazaria village in Monohardi upazila.

Quoting witnesses, SM Zahirul Islam, in-charge of Narsingdi Railway Police Station, said the accident occurred around 4 pm at an unauthorised level crossing when the Noakhali-bound ‘Upukul Express’ train from Dhaka hit the motorcycle carrying couple, leaving them dead on the spot.

The motorcycle got twisted after the accident.

The couple met the tragic accident while they were returning home after meeting their son Mahbubur Rahman, who is a class XII student of Independent College, located in Sahepratab area of the district.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent them to Railway Police camp, reports UNB.
