Two motorcyclists killed in Munshiganj road crash

Two young men were killed after a bus hit their motorbike in Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj district on Friday evening.


The deceased were identified as Mahmudul Hasan, 31, son of Abdul Mannan from Bohori village in Matlab South upazila of Chandpur, and Mehedi Hasan, 30, a resident of Kashimpur village under the same upazila.

According to witnesses and police, the Cumilla-bound of ‘Tisha Plus Paribahan’ from Dhaka hit the motorbike from behind on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Madhya Baushia area around 6pm, causing the rider and pillion passenger to fall and collide with another bus in front of them.

Mehedi died on the spot while injured Mahmudul was taken to Gazaria Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.

Gazaria Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Anwar Alam Azad said the bus was seized with the help of locals but the driver and helper managed to flee, reports UNB. 

A case was filed with Gazaria Police Station.
